Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Skydance Paramount plans to begin mass layoffs during the week starting 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 US jobs under a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional international job cuts are anticipated, as the firm aiming to disclose all specifics in its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.

Previous updates stated the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, Paramount employed almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not provided a response to a request for comment.
