A person who spiked sweets with tranquilliser and distributed them to minors at a youth camp in Leicestershire has pleaded guilty to sexual offences against two young males who were nine and ten years old.

The defendant was taken into custody after eight minors and a grown-up experienced illness at Stathern Lodge in mid-summer.

The senior citizen, from that region, confessed to a multiple criminal counts when he was present at the judicial center on the end of the week.

Nevertheless, he refused to admit one of the sexual offences he was accused of, which was involving a young boy.

The accused was kept in jail prior to a additional proceeding on November 28th.

'Treat game'

The legal representative, prosecuting, described the defendant's actions to the court.

She stated his targets were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a youth camp which he managed.

Ruben engaged in a "candy game" with the minors, Mrs Prior stated, in which he would enter the children's bedrooms when they were getting ready for bed and ask them to eat sweets "rapidly".

She stated to the judge Ruben had engaged in this activity with the boys "for many years", and minors had previously fallen ill the subsequent day.

She explained the man had been capable of justifying this for many years as the children being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his family member had worries in recently.

Mrs Prior KC added: "This year his stepchild had suspicions about the situation, justifiably.

"They decided to investigate in the man's possessions."

The prosecutor explained objects including baby oil, petroleum jelly and injection devices were located, and his stepchild contacted the authorities about his worries.

She stated Ruben continued to play the "treat game" with six children that evening - July 26th - and they were all ill the following morning.

"Authorities" had not gone out by that stage," she added.

The oversight body, the police conduct office, had stated that it was examining law enforcement's management of the events.

The legal representative said the minors were struggling to walk due to their condition, so the stepson called the police once more.

She said Ruben then engaged in the "treat game" in a area of five minors.
